I have purchased a Cub recently from a friend of a friend. He says that this tractor is a 1952 model. The serial number is 42438. What got me questioning the year was the white grill that is on mine instead of the wire mesh grill that I have been seeing on the front of pictures that I have found on the internet for 1952 Cubs. I am new to Cubs but have wanted one for 20 years. This tractor is in really good shape and is all original with the what I believe is the very first coat of paint. Decals are good also.

The serial number plate is gone from tractor , trying to figure out what year it is . But most likly you have a 59 if you lack any dec. codes. I was just thinking 'farmall' 140 and not 'international' 140 which i think '79' 140 would be called? I think the best way to find out the year maybe by looking at it, i think the 140 changed styles over the years. I am thinking that mine is a 1959 model . Casting codes of the letter E support this also . Engine casting codes 367825R2 Thanks guys ! That engine number was probably used in December '59, on a serial number close to 7600. Casting date code 'E' did not come around a second time during 140 production. 1979 was back to 'C'. The 'V' code after the engine number indicates exhaust valve rotators were installed.
