The DoT or the Department of Telecommunication that comes under Government of India has introduced three new methods to help people link their Aadhaar card and mobile numbers. These methods are aimed to make it simple for the people to link their mobile numbers with their Aadhaar cards. Now all the processes of Idea Aadhaar link, Airtel Aadhaar link, Vodafone Aadhaar link, and others have been made very simple as per the government. The three new methods of linking Aadhaar with mobile number include:

  • Aadhaar linking using OTP
  • Using the mAadhaar app for the linking.
  • Use of the IVRS facility to link Aadhaar.

For senior citizens, telecom operators have been directed by the DoT to offer verification facility to subscribers at their doorsteps for the convenience of those with disability, illness or old age. They are further directed to build an online mechanism – which can be through the website or any other means – to request such service. For people who don’t have the time to visit their nearest telecom network provider, they can use the Aadhaar Android or iOS app to link their mobile number to the Aadhar. Now the apps from different network providers are also enabled to provide Aadhaar linking services to their customers.
